Strepsils for cough is a drug in the form of capsules to be swallowed, which cuts the residual secretion into pieces, [1] facilitates expectoration and, as a result, fights cough. [2] Contains carbocysteine €‹€‹- the strongest mucoregulatory substance. [3]
Ingredients: Each hard capsule contains 375 mg of carbocysteine.
Adults and elderly:
The basal dose is an initial daily dose of 2,250 mg carbocisteine €‹€‹in divided doses, which may be reduced to 1,500 mg/day in divided doses when a satisfactory response is achieved, e.g. two capsules three times a day, and then to one capsules four times a day.
Children and adolescents: The use of Strepsils for cough in children is not recommended.
Method of administration: Oral use.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1.
- Use in patients with active gastric and duodenal ulcer
Indications for use
Carbocysteine €‹€‹is a mucolytic agent for use in the adjuvant treatment of respiratory diseases characterized by excessive amounts of viscous mucus, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
