Alax in the form of coated tablets contains dried powdered juice from aloe leaves (Aloe capensis) and dry extract from the bark of buckthorn (Frangulae corticis extractum siccum). The anthra compounds contained in the preparation have a laxative effect. The laxative process is explained by the stimulation of peristaltic movements of the large intestine (irritation of nerve endings) and the inhibition of reabsorption of water from the intestine. As a result, the intestinal transit is accelerated and the stool is loosened.
Indications
For short-term use in occasional constipation.
Contraindications:
Do not use the preparation in case of confirmed hypersensitivity (allergy) to active substances or allergy to any of the product's ingredients.
Intestinal obstruction and stenosis, intestinal atony, appendicitis, inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g. Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis).
Abdominal pain of unknown origin.
Severe dehydration with water and electrolyte deficiency.
Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
Storage:
Store at a temperature not higher than 25ºC.
Keep the drug out of the reach and sight of children.
